In June 2019, Longgang District of Shenzhen was chosen as a comprehensive large data pilot area of the province, being a pioneer in opening government data for industrial development, innovation and entrepreneurship. It took the lead in establishing the domestically-structured AI-empowered platform, having 24-h smart analysis of the district’s public video resources and pushing smart operation and management in the 31 scenarios involving 6 sectors like city administration, traffic, market regulation. In that September, Longgang District officially put into operation its AI algorithm training and empowering platform, promoting the application of AI algorithms to the city administration, public service, economic development and many other sectors.
In July 2023, Longgang District opened its algorithm training base, to expand the reach of government data, computing technologies and the application, to create a broader cooperation space for scientific organizations, universities and colleges, scientific enterprises, and the like, to facilitate innovation, entrepreneurship and technological research, and to promote the large-scale application of AI technologies and the prosperity of the industry.
The AI-empowered platform of Longgang District is playing a vital role in the 6 sectors, as city administration, production safety, ecological environment, public security, integrated management and food safety.
Le Wenzhong -- director of Longgang District Big Data Center has ever expressed that “continuous efforts would be made to enhance the cooperation with AI enterprises. On the one hand, the government would encourage more enterprises to participate in innovating government procedures and government service, so as to know more demands and seek new chances. On the other hand, the government would offer enterprises a wider range of political support and resources, to create more application scenarios, and further to facilitate the growth of the enterprises.”
