From Jan. 01 to Jan. 05, Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season would take place in Longgang District of Shenzhen.
Under the permit from Ministry of Culture and Tourism of PRC, Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season is hosted by China Committee under International Council of Organizations of FolkloreFestivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) & China Mass Culture Association, Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports and Longgang District People’s Government of Shenzhen, and it is co-organized by Publicity Department of Shenzhen Longgang District Committee of the CPC, Longgang District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports of Shenzhen, and Shenzhen Public Culture Promotion Association.
On Jan. 01, Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season is scheduled to commence with an opening ceremony occurring at Shenzhen Universiade Center -- main venue of the Season. Apart from the main venue, Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season also boasts 3 branch venues, especially at VANKELY, Wanda Plaza, and Longcheng CC Creation Block, of Longgang District.
It is introduced that Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season is comprised of 20 activities, attracting over 200 artists and performers from different countries of the world to give their sensational performances during the 5 days’ term and showcasing the brilliance of various folk arts and cultures.
According to the plan, art troupes from the nations like India, Kyrgyz Republic, Senegal, Indonesia, Thailand would give their performances during Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season, together with the art troupes from the cities and provinces of China, including Beijing, Hong Kong, Maocao, Chongqing, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, Shenzhen.
Various forms of performances, including dancing, singing, instrumental performance, acrobatics, would bring the audience cultural and artistic banquets and promote the communication between different cultures. And, during the 5 days’ term of Shenzhen International Folk Arts Season, folk creativity fairs and exhibitions would also take place, to display the folk costume, the cultural intangible heritage, the folk handicrafts, the snacks, etc.
