Mawan Cross-harbour Tunnel open to traffic -- being the first one of the sort in Shenzhen

According to the news from related authorities, Mawan Cross-harbour Tunnel -- the first of the sort in Shenzhen, is officially open to traffic.

The Tunnel that connects Qianhai with Dachanwan Port, features the path measuring 8.05 kilometers in the length, starting from Yueliangwan Avenue, crossing northwards Qianhaiwan, and ending at Xixiang Avenue.

The whole project consists of the underground tunnel and the ground road, with the underground tunnel classified as urban expressway having 6 lanes in two directions with a speed limit of 80km/h, and the ground road categorized as one of arterial roads of the city having 6 lanes in two directions with a speed limit of 40km/h. Mawan Cross-harbor Tunnel comprises 2 submarine shield-structure tunnels, with the longest diameter of the dig being 15.5 meters -- currently longest for the tunnels of the same kind in the nation.
