The 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale of Shenzhen lasts from Jan. 23 to Apr. 20 at Dafen Art Museum of Longgang District

The 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale, Shenzhen commenced at Dafen Art Museum on January 23, 2025. 

The 1st session of Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale was born in the year of 2018 with special missions and expectations, as the only international-level biennial exhibition of oil paintings held under the cooperation between China Artists Association (CAA) and the local government, apart from Beijing International Art Biennale. Serving as a bridge for global art communication, the first Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale of Shenzhen was on the theme of “openness and integration”, the second on “home and co-existence”, and the third on “interconnection and development”.

Being “green and co-existence” themed, the 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale of Shenzhen calls for environmental protection and advocates co-existence between human beings and the nature.

The 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale of Shenzhen would last from January 23 to April 20. It is hosted by Dafen Art Museum of Longgang District and co-hosted by Shenzhen Artists Association, under the academic supports from Oil Painting Committee under CAA and Oil Painting Institute under China National Academy of Painting, as well as the guidance from Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles (SFLAC). 224 works from 49 nations and regions have been selected for the exhibition, showing the great attraction and international influence of the event.

Besides, during the term of the 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale of Shenzhen, a series of academic and artistic speeches and dialogue activities would also be held. “Symphony of Time” Exhibition of AI Art, as a parallel to the 4th Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale, is aimed at exploring the challenges and chances that AI technologies bring to oil painting industry, seeking new paths for the harmony among human beings, the nature and technology in the technological revolution, pushing Dafen Oil Painting Village towards the diversification of IP, and creating an organic biology of the culture, to help maintain Dafen Oil Painting Village’s leading position in global art market.
