Three Attractions Recommended at the 20th ICIF

Three attractions in Longgang District are introduced and recommended in the brochures distributed at the 20th ICIF.

They are Dafen Oil Painting Village, School of Twenty-four Histories, and Gankeng Ancient Town.

Dafen Oil Painting Village is recommended as one of the sites, introduced in “Artistic Tribes” section of “Study Tourism” part, in “ ‘Fun in Pengcheng’ Selected Travel Routes in Shenzhen” brochure distributed at the main venue of the 20th ICIF.

Dafen Oil Painting Village, located in Buji Subdistrict of Longgang District in Shenzhen, is 400 square meters large. It is one of China’s largest oil painting production and trading base. It’s of global significance for oil painting transaction. It is estimated that over 1,000,000 pieces of oil paintings are produced and sold at Dafen Oil Painting Village and it earns a foreign exchange value of over 30,000,000 yuan through exporting oil paintings. Therefore, it is well-known as “China’s No.1 oil painting village”.

School of Twenty-four Histories is recommended as one of the sites introduced in “Experience of Intangible Cultural Heritage” section of “Study Tourism” part, in “ ‘Fun in Pengcheng’ Selected Travel Routes in Shenzhen” brochure distributed at the main venue of the 20th ICIF.

School of Twenty-four Histories, located at north Gankeng Ancient Town, is built in the style of oriental garden. Bookstores of its characteristics are there. It is an ideal place for exhibition and reading. Featuring Hakka-style buildings and natural scenery, it showcases Hakka culture and history, representing one corner of Shenzhen’s glamour.

Gankeng Ancient Town is recommended as one of the sites introduced in “Lingnan Memories” Section of “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Bi-city Tour” Part, in “ ‘Fun in Pengcheng’ Selected Travel Routes in Shenzhen” brochure, distributed at the main venue of the 20th ICIF.

Gankeng, with a long history, is one of the top 10 ancient Hakka villages in Shenzhen. Gankeng Ancient Town, also named Gankeng Hakka Town, originated in Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912) of China, is located now in Longgang District of Shenzhen. Covering 180,000 square meters, it is a cultural and scenic spot, maintaining various Hakka buildings, Hakka folks and customs, Hakka food and natural scenery.
