Sandy Denny - Where The Time Goes (1967) [FLAC]1CD | Log,Artworks | Released: November 22, 2005 | Label: Castle Music UK | 352.25 MB
Genre: Folk"Sandy Denny's voice - especially at the start of her career - was utterly wonderful and well deserves five stars. Even if the actual material contains a few too many cover versions of US writers it is a great insight into how Sandy developed as an artist, what was influencing her pre-Fairport, and how material was arranged.
What makes this a worthwhile purchase above other collections from the same sessions is the care which has been given to the documentation this time around. In the CD notes, Clinton Heylin (who produced a fine biography of Sandy ('No more Sad Refrains', Helter Skelter Publishing, 2000) provides an exemplary sleeve essay explaining the history of previous (generally shoddy) releases and which explains which take has appeared on which release together with a fascinating account of the circumstances surrounding these recordings."
